Gemstones have been highly desirable throughout most of human history. Theses minerals are cut and polished to reflect light to show off their beauty. They are often rare and surrounded by folklore and tradition.
How do they form?
Many gemstones formed deep inside mountain ranges under high heat and pressure.
Why are they so colourful?
Gemstone colour comes from their chemical composition. Different chemicals absorb different wavelengths of light.
